Tyson Daniel began hairdressing professionally in 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah — apprenticing in the salon of his mother, Victoria Stanford. His education was never limited to hair technique. He learned hairdressing inside a real working salon, in a culture built on quality, integrity, and taking care of people.

He went on to join the TIGI / BED HEAD artistic team, learning from industry icons such as Anthony Mascolo and James Morrison. He opened his first salon and was named TIGI Hairdresser of the Year in 1999 — a salon that became the launching pad for household names such as Andrew Carruthers, who would become Education Director for Paul Mitchell and Lunatic Fringe, and Fumi Eguchi, master stylist with Lunatic Fringe and an internationally recognized, award-winning photographic hairdresser.

Tyson had the honor of working with, and assisting, many great hairdressers. That tradition continues today with his own sons, Paulo and Leo — a family-based, teamwork hair salon. The family works together to take care of its clients, and in many cases, their families.

Tyson went on to sell Studio Salon and appeared on Bravo's Shear Genius, Season One, as a rival among the industry's rising talents. He served on the core artistic team for Pureology haircare — all while maintaining a consistent, loyal clientele behind the chair.

After a brief sabbatical to start a family, Tyson returned to Salt Lake and created Tyson Daniel Hairdressing — a return to his roots of behind-the-chair hairdressing. He soon became involved with Seven haircare, helping to advance education and innovation at every level of the salon industry.

In 2019, Tyson and his family launched RE: haircare — the fulfillment of a dream and vision imagined twenty years earlier: to create custom blended haircare.

Experience is valuable not simply for the number of years behind the chair, but for what those years produce: better judgment. Three decades of work allow Tyson to recognize what hair needs — and what it does not need — which techniques are appropriate, how different textures and colors behave, and how to simplify complicated problems.

The approach is deliberately not old-fashioned. Tyson is experienced enough to know the rules — and innovative enough to never be limited by them.

People come for the hair — and stay for the reliability and consistency.
